Ahead of the release of her splashy Netflix action project Heart Of Stone, Gal Gadot has been reflecting on the future of her career.
Labelled as a ‘super grounded, raw, action thriller,’ Heart Of Stone launches on Netflix on August 11th and stars Gal Gadot as she embarks on her career, post-Wonder Woman. Whilst the door has been left partly open for a return to the new look DC Universe, Gadot is focusing on new projects and seems to be excited about that.
“To me, starting and developing stories that I’m passionate about is an incredible thing,” Gadot told Total Film. “The fact that I don’t have to sit still at home and just wait for the next offer is something that makes me feel empowered. I enjoy doing it, it keeps me alive.”
She continued, “I’m not only going to do my own projects, I’m going to work as an actress-for-hire still. But the fact that I can go ahead and tell the stories that I’m passionate about – from ideas that I conceived, or from ideas that I find fascinating from people that want to partner with us – it’s an incredible thing.”
Comic book scribe Greg Rucka penned Heart Of Stone, the writer behind Netflix’s successful adaptation of The Old Guard, this time co-writing with Hidden Figures’ Allison Schroeder. The Aeronauts' Tom Harper directs.
The trailer shows off some fun-looking action sequences for the film, which also features Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighöfer, Sophie Okonedo, Alia Bhatt, Jing Lusi and Paul Ready. You can catch the trailer below.
