Guillermo del Toro’s next film has now completed photography with the director aiming to have it in front of our eyes a year from now.
Filming has finally wrapped on Nightmare Alley, Guillermo del Toro’s next movie, with shooting having been delayed by Covid disruption. The filmmaker himself briefly took to Twitter, via video, to announce that that production has wrapped. What’s more, del Toro also announced plans to have the film with us by December 2021.
The project has been co-written by del Toro and Kim Morgan and produced by Fox Searchlight. It is based on the 1946 William Lindsay Gresham novel, which is described as ‘a study of the lowest depths of showbiz and its sleazy inhabitants – the dark, shadowy world of a second rate carnival filled with hustlers, scheming grifters, and Machiavellian femmes fatales.‘
Toni Collette, Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, David Strathairn and Rooney Mara all star. The film will mark del Toro’s first directorial outing since 2017’s award-winning The Shape Of Water. We’ll bring you more news on this one as we hear it.
