The new Ghostbusters film is confirmed for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD in the UK: more on the release here.
Notching up just over $100m at the US box office, and about to cross $200m in total globally, the latest Ghostbusters movie – Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – has ended up doing roughly around the same amount of business as the last one. Ghostbusters: Afterlife did well on its home formats release too, and Sony will be hoping for the same again here.
We’ve now got news of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’s physical media release, with the confirmation that the movie will be arriving on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
The release date for the film has been set as 24th June 2024, and you can find more information on the release – and order yourself a copy of the 4K – right here.
Or if you prefer the Blu-ray and DVD version, you can find more on those on this Amazon page.
A double pack is available with Ghostbusters: Afterlife on the same day too, although there’s no boxset of the five Ghostbusters films to date. You can find the double pack here.
There’s no word on extra features at the moment. For now instead, we’ll leave you with the synopsis for the film, that reads as follows.
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is available for preorder now. When we hear more news of a future Ghostbusters movie, we’ll bring that your way.
