Spin-off it may be, but the upcoming addition to the John Wick films continues to add to an impressive cast: Gabriel Byrne is next in.
The
John Wick universe is set to expand with the series’ first spin-off,
Ballerina, entering production in Prague last month. On top of that,
John Wick: Chapter 4 is on the way and will arrive in March of next year. There’s also the TV series spin-off,
The Continental which will be airing on Amazon Prime Video here in the UK.
Thatās a lot of
John Wick to go around, and itās easy to imagine getting franchise fatigue.
That said, the casting for
Ballerina continues to delight with the news that Gabriel Byrne has now joined the production. Byrne ā and you can find his
2020 memoir here (from which our lead image was taken) ā can do charming, enigmatic and sinister in equal measure which makes him a perfect fit for the
John Wick universe.
He will join the terrific Ana de Armas in the title role, whilst the film will also feature appearances from Angelica Huston, Lance Reddick, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno and series regulars Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane.
Promising Young Woman‘s Emerald Fennell has co-written the script which is being directed by Len Wiseman.
This one continues to be project to watch although there’s no scheduled release date as yet.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to arrive in March of next year though. We’ll let you know more on
Ballerina as we hear it.
