Get a glimpse into the wider world of Zamunda ahead of Coming 2 America’s March release on Amazon Prime Video.
It seems like we’ve been waiting quite a while for this film now, but with the launch of the full trailer and the release date just over a month away, we’re almost there. It’s the long-mooted sequel to Coming To America, cunningly going by the name Coming 2 America.
The trailer gives us a more expansive glimpse into the opulent life of Akeem and the Zamundan royal family, whilst also showcasing lots of returning cast members from the beloved 1988 original, including Eddie Murphy as Akeem, Arsenio Hall as Semmi, James Earl Jones as King Jaffe Joffer, Shari Headley as Queen Lisa and John Amos as Cleo McDowell. Also onboard are Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne and Nomzamo Mbatha.
Coming 2 America will reunite Murphy with his Dolemite Is My Name director, Craig Brewer, along with Snipes too, who enjoyed a scene-stealing role in the 2019 biographical comedy. If the trio can replicate the creative successes of Dolemite and combine it with some of the magic of the original Coming To America, then we could be in for a real treat.
You can catch the trailer below ahead of the film’s March 5th release date.

The digitally-animated collection of video game shorts - Secret Level - will return, hopefully this time with a proper spin on Pac-Man.
For a series that some have written off as little more than a glorified bunch of game adverts, Amazon's Secret Level series so far has been an interesting show to follow in the [...]
The James Bond saga remains in limbo, and a new report suggests that disagreements between Barbara Broccoli and Amazon are the hold-up.
There’s been a deep-seated suspicion that all hasn’t been well behind the scenes of the James Bond saga. Ever since the release of No Time To Die, there’s been no sign of a new [...]
Amazon and EON are bringing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang back to the screen, and Matthew Warchus has signed up to direct the movie.
EON Productions might be taking its time over wherever the James Bond saga is going next, but it’s got a different Ian Fleming-linked project up and running with Amazon MGM. Seems to be [...]
