Flash Gordon set for cinemas after all

The 40th birthday remaster of the much-loved sci-fi movie Flash Gordon is heading towards UK cinemas in July, it seems. Well, here’s a nice surprise. Earlier this year, it had been announced that ahead of the upcoming Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray reissue of Flash Gordon for its 40^th birthday, that the movie was going to head back into cinemas. Then, well, things happened, and the cinema release was abandoned. Instead, the new remastered version of the film was announced, and it’ll be with us on August 10^th. But! It now looks, for those willing to venture in that direction, that the film will be in cinemas after all. StudioCanal has added a July 31^st release date for the movie to its schedule, and it’ll be available to UK cinemas to show from that day. The full has enjoyed a full 4K remaster, and the new 4K and Blu-ray versions are available to preorder here.
