Cameras are rolling on the low-budget British production that packs lots of potential: here’s a bit more on 7 Keys.
Production has begun on Joy Wilkinson’s feature debut,
7 Keys. The British thriller is shooting in London and marks the directorial feature debut of Wilkinson, who has previously earned writing credits on shows such as
Doctor Who and who has been named as a talent with a bright future.
The premise of the film certainly sounds intriguing:
1917′s Billy Postlethwaite and
The Picture Of Dorian Gray's Emma McDonald star as Daniel and Lena, who ‘together go on a wild weekend across London with keys to all the places Daniel used to live, however their risky fantasy soon is hit with a deadly threat.’
Wilkinson has been chatting a little about the project, stating that “7
Keys is a pulsing thriller about a romance that goes wrong and a portrait of the city today. It’s a story for our world obsessed with dating apps and property porn, a generation trying to make a connection and find their corner of the capital, while the gap between the haves and have-nots continues to grow. I’m excited to bring some fresh blood to the [thriller] genre,” Wilkinson adds, “with character-driven, sensual suspense and a single mum protagonist who has depth, flaws and surprises for us.”
