A24ās most profitable film ever ā Everything Everywhere All At Once ā is heading back into cinemas once more, with extra footage to boot.
When Everything Everywhere All At Once released earlier this year, its multiverse-based mayhem drew more than a few favourable comparisons with Marvel Studioās Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert pieced together a film which wholeheartedly embraced the chaotic spirit and kooky diversity of the multiverse concept, two elements that were depicted somewhat flatly in the much more expensive and higher profile Doctor Strange sequel.
Everything Everywhere All At Once would go on to become the very definition of successful counter-programming, becoming A24ās most profitable film by earning $94m from a $25m production budget. Now, as it did with Ari Asterās Midsommar back in 2019, the indie studio is re-releasing the film to capitalise on its continued positive buzz. Whatās more, the re-release will feature an introduction from the directors and eight minutes of unreleased outtakes.
If you havenāt yet seen the film, trying to encapsulate its story in a couple of lines is an exercise in futility, but it has Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis and a host of other talent on top form, not to mention bags of creativity, strangeness, heart and some wonderful kung fu sequences.
The film is scheduled to return to US cinemas on July 29th and with the drought of movies affecting multiplex provision at the moment, weād be very surprised if it didnāt find its way into a cinema near you, not to mention potentially showing at independent cinemas too. You can catch a new trailer that has been released for the film, below.
