Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton are heading to Summer Camp, and the first details of the film have landed.
Eugene Levy may be best known these days as the co-creator/writer/star of the Emmy winning
Schitt’s Creek, or as Jim’s blunt yet affectionate father in the
American Pie franchise, but it is his partnership with Christopher Guest that cemented his status as a comic actor of some reknown, co-writing and bringing his superb improv skills to films like
Waiting For Guffman, Best In Show and
For Your Consideration.
Levy is taking a left turn into romantic comedies with
Summer Camp.
The film follows “
Nora, Ginny and Mary, who have been best friends since childhood, spending their summers together inseparably at sleepaway camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why”.
Levy will play the love interest of Diane Keaton. Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodward also star.
Castile Landon, a regular director of the
After film series on Netflix, will helm the film from her own script.
Summer Camp will begin production in North Carolina next month, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
