The Crown actor Emma Corrin has been talking about entering the Marvel universe and becoming Deadpool 3's villain.
In an interview with
Empire Magazine which took place before the SAG strike began, Corrin said they were āreally excited to play a villain.ā With filming on the Ryan Reynolds-starring threequel on hold due to the strikes and the release date far off, the details of exactly who Corrin is playing are still under wraps.
“I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch,” the actor continued, before detailing how they became attached to the movie. They were approached by director Shawn Levy after he saw them in a stage production of
Orlando, but details on the film were scarce. “I’d heard about the project but, classic Marvel, they couldn’t tell me anything about it. Absolutely nothing. Zilch. So, I met him being like, ‘I don’t know what this is about.ā”
Corrin also knew relatively little about the Marvel universe, having only watched a Spider-Man film and
Black Panther. “It’s such an intricate world. There’s so much to it. It’s an absolute mind-f*ck. All the language and the Easter eggs, and this person is related to that person who did this, and this person came back and this person’s dead… it’s amazing.”
Deadpool 3 will also star Ryan Reynolds as the titular character, see Hugh Jackman return as Wolverine, and features Jennifer Garnerās Elektra. Production on the film is currently on pause while the strikes are ongoing.
