Edie Falco is reteaming with Nurse Jackie director Brendan Walsh for I’ll Be Right There, and here are the first details.
Edie Falco first shot to fame as Carmela Soprano in HBO’s
The Sopranos from 1999 to 2007. Following up a role on what is regularly voted as one of the greatest television series of all time cannot have been easy, but she did it by starring in
Nurse Jackie, which was also a huge success, running on Showtime from 2009 to 2015.
Now, she’s reteaming with regular series director Brendan Walsh for
I’ll Be Right There.
It is set to follow “a single mother, Wanda, who has her hands full to say the least: her eight month pregnant daughter wants a wedding, her mother thinks she’s dying, her wayward son is either going into rehab or the army, and she barely has time for herself, not that she would know what to do with it anyway. Wanda lives to take care of her family, but everyone around her doesn’t seem to accept that. At the end of the day she loves being at the beck and call of those she loves. Why isn’t that enough?”.
Falco stars as Wanda, alongside Kayli Carter as her daughter, Jeannie Berlin as her mother and Charlie Tahan as her son. Michael Rapaport, Michael Beach, Sepideh Moafi and Bradley Whitford also feature.
Walsh directs from a screenplay by Jim Beggarly. Falco also executive produces alongside Jesse Eisenberg.
