Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming British comedy, I Used To Be Famous. The film stars Deadpool's Ed Skrein who plays Vince, ‘a desperate former popstar who dreams of making a comeback. An impromptu jam session with autistic young drummer Stevie sparks an unexpected friendship between the two misunderstood musicians’ and Vince finds himself trying to climb the fame ladder once more.
Eddie Sternberg directs, adapting his 2015 short into a feature length film. The project also stars Eleanor Matsuura, Lorraine Ashbourne, Eoin Macken and Stanley Morgan.
With Netflix looking to whittle down its film output and focus on films with greater star wattage, sticking I Used To Be Famous on your watchlist and giving it the old thumbs up is one way of letting the streaming platform know that small budget British films are certainly appreciated. Of course, that depends on whether you enjoy the movie but you can get an advance taste of it in the trailer below. I Used To Be Famous is set to hit the platform on 16th September.
