Dwayne Johnson is back at the centre of the Fast and Furious universe, as a second film centered around his character Hobbs is announced.
How times change. A few years ago, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel had quite the disagreement, their differences seemingly irreconcilable. Yet it now seems that Johnson is firmly back in the, well, āfamilyā.
In a
Twitter post, Johnson announced a brand new spin-off film centered around his character. Though it follows 2019ās
Hobbs And Shaw, the new as yet untitled film stands alone and is not a sequel. Furthermore, it will serve as further set up for
Fast X: Part 2.
In a video accompanying the post, Johnson clarified that he and Diesel had put their feud to bed and are friends and co-workers once more, saying they will ālead with brotherhood and resolveā, going on to say heās built his career on an āaudience and fans firstā mentality.
Specific plot details are being kept under wraps, but the screenplay will be written by long time
Fast and Furious scribe Chris Morgan. No director has been announced, Diesel and Johnson are producing through their respective production companies One Race Films and Seven Bucks Productions.
Weāll keep you updated as we hear more.
