January sees the launch of Blumhouseās āhaunted swimming poolā movie, Night Swim. Catch a look here.
In the midst of the prestigious awards contenders that we get at the turn of the year, one of the more fun aspects to the annual movie merry-go-round is Blumhouseās first horror flick of the year. Over the last four years, the horror houseās early-in-the-year release has given us such delights as M3GAN, The Invisible Woman and The Vigil, an underrated horror thriller, if you havenāt yet seen it.
Early 2024 is set to bring us Night Swim, a Blumhouse production that looks to be in the campier style of M3GAN as opposed to the other two films weāve just mentioned. The project is one of the first collaborations between James Wan’s production company Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions at Universal Pictures.
Night Swim is a ‘supernatural thriller built around the hidden source of terror found in a backyard swimming pool.’
The film is set for a January 19th 2024 release under the Universal Pictures banner, with Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon set to star. Russell will also be reappearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thunderbolts as John Walker. Kondon meanwhile, will be appearing of the back of her highly-acclaimed turn in The Banshees Of Inisherin.
The film will be helmed by Bryce McGuire. McGuire’s directorial credits so far include The White Room and Never Ever for Blumhouse. The full trailer is a bit more traditionally-styled than the teaser we covered back in October. That one was more of a tone piece whilst todayās trailer gives you a fuller glimpse of the film.
We’ll bring you more on Night Swim as we hear it.
