Disney clarifies details of its Disney+ service in the UK, ahead of its March release.
We’re a month away from the launch of new streaming service Disney+ in the UK, and a few more details have been released. A big launch event is planned for March 5th, before the service finally goes live over here from March 24th.
Disney has reiterated that the pricing in the UK will be £5.99 per month, or £59.99 for a year. And has added that we’ll be getting a free seven day trial period option too.
For the first time, albeit most of this isn’t a surprise, it’s confirmed that subtitles and multi-language options will be available on the material it offers. That the Star Wars show The Mandalorian will be part of the launch day selection, although even though the show has completed its full transmission in the US, we’re still going to be getting it weekly, rather than all in one go, in the UK.
Disney furthermore admits that whilst the plan is to generally release material in line with the US timeframes, that there may be variation from country to country.
Users will be able to have up to seven profiles on one subscription, with the option to stream to four screens at a time on one account. Everything on the service will also be available to download for offline viewing.
Finally, confirmation too that DisneyLife will merge into Disney+ from March 24th.
Expect a lot more noise about the service in the weeks ahead.
