Update: full details on the Disney+ film line-up will be arriving this week ā donāt click on this article until then.
CORRECTION: Golden rule of Film Stories ā when you make a mistake, own it. Hence ā the first version of this story that went up is inaccurate, and thatās on us (although unintentionally inaccurate). The full line up announcement is coming shortly, and weāre assured that there will be a *lot* of films.
The announcement that Disney+ is adding a ‘Star’ section to its streaming service in February is a hugely positive one. It opens the door for the movies under Disney ownership that have tougher ratings than PG-13 and 12A to have a home on the service, even more important given how many such films the Mouse acquired when it completed its purchase of Fox. On top of the likes of the
Die Hards, the
Predators and the
Alien movies, there are tens of thousands of films now in the studioās vault.

Inaccurate part about the specific movies removed.
The emphasis with Star, at least in its early days, looks like being on TV shows. No shortage of those, with
Big Sky,
Helstrom,
Love Victor,
How I Met Your Mother,
24,
Family Guy,
Desperate Housewives,
Prison Break,
The X-Files,
Atlanta,
Black-ish,
Lost and
The Gifted all arriving in full.
In terms of films on the broader Disney+ service, then February’s new additions will be
Ice Age: Collision Course,
Flora & Ulysses and
Flicka 2.
More as we hear it.
