A since-deleted tweet from Marvel’s India account could have potentially spilled an unexpected release date for the vampire slayer’s MCU debut.
News on the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Blade film has been pretty scarce ever since Kevin Feige announced – alongside Mahershala Ali – that it would be reviving the fearsome vampire-hunter during 2019’s Comic-Con. We know that Ali will be playing the fearsome vampire slayer, whilst
Watchmen scribe Stacy Osei-Kuffour, has penned the film. The
Blade project also got itself a new title,
Blade: The Vampire Slayer, which was most likely to distinguish it from Wesley Snipes’ previous trilogy.
Now, a since-deleted tweet from Marvel’s India account suggests that the film has a release date of 7th October, 2022. You can see the image below:

Whether this was deleted because it was a leak, or because it was inaccurate, remains to be seen, but if the film is due out in less than a year, we’d be surprised as it wasn’t originally named in Marvel’s phase four. Plus, cameras haven’t even begun to roll yet. They’ll need to get moving really rather quickly to hit that deadline.
Whilst it’s most likely a mistake, the prospect of getting a
Blade movie next year is an exciting one at least. If Marvel clarifies this, or if we hear more elsewhere, we’ll let you know.
