Michael B Jordan is set to start in Methuselah for Warner Bros – and it’s going to be Danny Boyle’s next film as well.
Filmmaker Danny Boyle enjoyed another hit to add to his collection last year, with the release of the Beatles-flavoured music-tinged romantic comedy, Yesterday. He was, of course, set to direct the 25th James Bond film – that became No Time To Die – but walked away from that project.
Now, though, we learn that he’s set to take on the Biblical story of Methuselah, a project that has been on the stove at Warner Bros for some time.
It tells the story of a man who lived to be 969 years old, and may well be a movie franchise if all goes to plan. After Tom Cruise was originally set to start in the project, it’s now pressing ahead with Michael B Jordan in the lead role. And with Boyle joining the project, he brings with him frequent collaborator Simon Beaufoy to rewrite the screenplay (that had previously been tackled by the likes of James Watkins and Tony Gilroy).
Jordan is also serving as a producer on this one, and the project is said to be a priority for Warner Bros. No word as of yet as to when it’s heading to production or any hint as to a release date, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
