As already hinted, the Rocky spin-off Creed looks set to spawn some related projects of its own. More here.
Just
last week we reported on a brief comment by
Creed IIIās star and director, Michael B Jordan which seemed to hint that the world of Adonis Creed would be spinning out into multiple projects. Amazon now owns MGM and is looking to launch recognisable projects that will offer a return on its sizeable investment. As such, there are a few projects underway to build on the popularity of the
Creed franchise.
Michael B Jordan himself kicked off the speculation, saying “building the
Creed universe is something that I’m really excited about,” and whilst another mainline
Creed sequel is almost a certainty, especially given the latest filmās fantastic box office haul thus far, there are clearly more projects in the pipeline.
Deadline is reporting that Jordan has taken exploratory meetings for a number of projects, including a
Creed anime. That one is said to be actively in the works, as is a live action companion TV show. Another idea that is being explored is a project focused on Adonis Creed’s daughter Amara (played by Mila Davis-Kent). Thereās no indication as of yet whether that one is a film or TV show.
The report also suggests that the planned
Drago spin-off is still alive and is planned to be a film project rather than a TV series. Reportedly, a script has been commissioned and the project is still at the writing stage.
Thatās a whole lot of
Creed potentially on the way but unfortunately, none if it is likely to feature Sylvester Stallone who continues to feud with the seriesā producers over the rights to what is becoming an increasingly valuable piece of intellectual property. Weāll bring you more on any of these developing projects as we hear it.
