At the grand age of 93, Clint Eastwood is considering retirement after making Juror #2 for Warner Bros.
According to reports, Clint Eastwood has set his final film at Warner Bros. The project, currently titled
Juror #2, will mark Eastwoodās final turn in the directorās chair as he edges closer to his mid-90s. Eastwoodās retirement will mark the end of a remarkable career both in front and behind the camera, including a half-century partnership with Warner Bros.
Juror #2 is said to āfollow one jury member in a murder trial who suspects he may have had some part in the victim’s death. He is caught in a moral conundrum of whether to use his secret to sway the jury away and protect himself or turn himself over to the justice system he is participating in.ā
The conflict of individualism versus authoritarianism has often been a key thematic streak throughout Eastwood movies, so it certainly feels fitting that heāll be tackling that idea one more time.
Discussing Film reports that Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette are lined up to lead the cast.
Itās worth noting that according to the widely-reported story, the news of Eastwoodās plans to make
Juror #2 his final film has not yet been publicly confirmed and is being circulated within Warner Bros. For the studioās part, upon being given the hot seat last year, CEO David Zaslav publicly expressed dissatisfaction with Eastwoodās last film, 2021ās
Cry Macho.
Eastwoodās last couple of films havenāt turned a profit at the box office and Zaslav offered a rather blunt assessment of
Cry Macho and the studioās long-running relationship with Eastwood, stating “we don’t owe anyone any favours. It’s not show friends, it’s show business.” He sounds a blast.
Still, it looks like the studio will be backing Eastwood one more time but then again, you donāt need us to remind you about
Batgirl. Weāll bring you more details on what looks to be the final film of Eastwoodās storied career as we hear them.
