Other cinemas, such as Vue, Curzon as well as the smaller chains Reel, Savoy, Arc and Picturedrome and a number of smaller cinemas, plan to screen the funeral for free to people who wish to come along.
According to Variety, over 150 cinemas plan to participate. Weāre unaware at the moment of any planning to stay open, outside of screening the funeral itself. The BFI has canceled the first day of its London Film Festival pre-festival program because it was set to clash with the Queen’s funeral. Universal has also postponed the UK release of Ol Parker’s Ticket to Paradise starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts. The film, which was due to be released this coming Friday, will now be released on the 20th September, a day after the Queen’s funeral. More as we hear it. ā Thank you for visiting!
