The seminal slasher series Child’s Play gets an upgrade as it heads to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format in the US.
Rereleasing old films is nothing new of course. With ever evolving technology, films have never looked better, and subsequently every studio is digging through their archives for films ripe for the treatment.
The latest is the evergreen
Child’s Play series. Although there are currently seven feature films and a television series, aptly titled
Chucky, it is the first three that are getting the upgrade.
Child’s Play, Child’s Play 2 and
Child’s Play 3 are being rereleased by Shout! Factory, and the multi-disc sets come with a slew of special features, as well as collectable posters.
If you really want to splash the cash, they also offer bundles, which contain the aforementioned 4K discs and posters along with a collectable ‘Charred Chucky’ figurine.
They are available to order from the
Shout Factory website in the US, though a UK release has yet to be announced.
