Channing Tatum has been chatting about the unmade 23 Jump Street movie and it seems that the actor is still down to do it.
Channing Tatum is currently promoting his upcoming film Fly Me To The Moon, but the press tour has had him revisit another project.
During a chat with ComicBook.com, Tatum said the unproduced 23 Jump Street had an excellent script.
“There is a project that was written and it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie,” Tatum told the outlet. According to Tatum, the third film failed to get made because of “a lot of bureaucracy, kind of above the line stuff. It’s really hard to get it made and we’ve been trying to get it done.”
A remake of an 80s TV show, 21 Jump Street, released in 2012, cast Tatum and Jonah Hill as Jenko and Schmidt, two undercover cops who try to bust a high school drug ring. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film was a major hit and a sequel, 22 Jump Street, followed in 2014.

A third film was planned and the infamous Sony hack revealed that the third film was due to be a crossover between Jump Street and Men In Black franchises. James Bobin was even attached to direct in 2016, but the project never materialised, clearly to Tatum’s disappointment.
“You know what, I’m going to put some good juju out there and I’m going to say I would love to see 23 Jump Street,” Tatum said. “I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.”
Perhaps all hope isn’t lost on 23 Jump Street yet.
