Carol At The End Of The World is an animated sitcom coming to Netflix ā and good news! A new trailer has just landed.
Dan Guterman made his name as a writer on satirical website The Onion, as well as Community and Rick And Morty.
Heās now created and written Carol At The End Of The World for Netflix, a brand new animated show thatās going to be making its debut on the streaming service in just over a week (assuming youāre reading this article on the day it goes live. Else it might be less than a week, but letās not get bogged down in fussy details).
The synopsis for Carol At The End Of The World reads as followsā¦
With a mysterious planet hurtling towards Earth, extinction is imminent for all the people of the world. Global human annihilation is impending… While most feel liberated to pursue their wildest dreams, one quiet and always uncomfortable woman stands alone — lost among the hedonistic masses.
The voice cast for the show includes Martha Kelly as Carol, Beth Grant, Lawrence Pressman, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Mel Rodriguez, Bridget Everett and Delbert Hunt.
Carol At The End Of The World arrives at a turbulent year for Netflix, with the streaming giant cancelling a number of shows, including the big-budget fantasy series Shadow And Bone, due to a mix of cost-cutting and post-Hollywood strike production issues. Netflix has also changed strategy with its movies, having vowed to make fewer movies in-house, and doubling down on its approach of buying in feature films from festivals and the like.
The company still seems keen to invest in animation, though, with an animated series based on The Terminator on the way and the charming-looking stop-motion series Pokemon Concierge coming this month.
Carol At The End Of The World will stream on Netflix from the 15th December, and the first trailer is now with us as well. The only trailer, perhaps, but a trailer nonetheless. And here it is:
Looks interesting. You can find out for yourself if it actually is from the 15th.
