Cardiff Animation Festival has released its full programme ā tickets are on sale for events running from 7th-24th April.
2022 marks the third Cardiff Animation Festival, which is held every other year as a celebration of animated film. This yearās programme has now been released in full, and tickets are on sale. The festival will continue to run both in-person and online, with a range of exciting events planned to run from 7th April until the 10th (for in-person guests) or 24th (for people attending online).
Included in the festival programme are plenty of screenings of features and short films, as well as workshops and masterclasses with professionals. The Heads of Creature Effects from the BBC show
His Dark Materials will be there running a puppetry masterclass, and revealing secrets from behind the scenes. The Oscar-nominated animator Joanna Quinn is also in attendance, as well as the animation team behind
Flee and Elizabeth Ito, who created Netflixās
City Of Ghosts.
The festival isnāt all business. Among the classes and workshops and plenty of parties and social events, including animated karaoke, and the films being shown include
Flee, On-Gaku, and
Summer Ghost. For fans of specific studios, thereās a Z to A of Studio Ghibli event, full of trivia and insights from the hosts of
Ghibliotheque podcast.
