Bryan Singer hasn’t directed a film for many years now, but it sounds like he’s gearing up to tell his side of the story.
Not much has been heard of filmmaker Bryan Singer since his, er, ‘early departure’ from the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. He was replaced by Dexter Fletcher, who successfully completed the movie, that would go on to box office and Oscar gold.
It was back in 2019 that The Atlantic ran a sizeable piece alleging sexual misconduct, that you can read in full here. The allegations spanned a fair amount of time, and since the piece was published, Singer hasn’t directed another film. He has always denied the allegations, incidentally.
Not for the want of trying. He was linked for some time to an $80m remake of Red Sonja, that only fell apart when Millennium Films couldn’t secure distribution.
A new report now suggests though that Singer, who has reportedly moved to Israel, has some new films that he’s trying to get moving. According to Variety, one of them is a documentary about himself, that he’s providing the funding for.
The report suggests Singer is looking to address his personal struggles, and the allegations of sexual misconduct that have followed him.
Singer himself hasn’t confirmed the project, and his representative chose not to comment. There’s the suggestion that conversations about it are happening, though.
