Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa will headline the planned action buddy comedy The Wrecking Crew, which is moving forward.
Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto has his next project ready to go and it packs quite a double header. It has been revealed that Soto’s next film will be
The Wrecking Crew for MGM, a buddy comedy that is set to star both Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the project was being set up before the actors’ strike put everything on pause. Neither Bautista or Momoa have signed on to make it official yet, but agreements are believed to have been struck. The project has been penned by
Banshee scribe, Jonathan Tropper who also wrote the Ryan Reynolds-headlined film,
The Adam Project.
Soto’s
Blue Beetle is currently showing in cinemas where it has earned fair reviews and you can catch ours
here. As for
The Wrecking Crew, there really isn’t much else to share at the moment, presumably because the finer details will be locked down once the actors’ strike eventually concludes. We’re certainly not averse to the idea of Bautista and Momoa sharing the screen, let’s just hope that the action and creativity aren’t spoiled by one of those silly ego-based contract arrangements that artificially shaped the action sequences with Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson in
The Fast & the Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
