The long delayed Blade reboot hits even more obstacles as the writer’s strike puts a stop to production.
It would be fair to say that the upcoming reboot of
Blade has had a harder journey than most Marvel films. From script issues to losing their original director,
Blade now hits another roadblock as the ongoing writer’s strike has put a stop to pre-production. A further delay is now on the cards.
Marvel recently hired
True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto to rewrite screenplay, but the strike means that he will nog be able to start work for the forseeable future.
This has forced Marvel to delay production indefinitely, until the strike comes to an end.
This is a huge blow for Marvel, though affecting such a huge studio will give writers huge bargaining power amidst their strike negotiations.
Mahershala Ali will star as the titular vampire hunter, alongside Mia Goth. Yann Demange will direct.
