It’s all change again, as Beverly Hills Cop 4 brings in its latest new director – Eddie Murphy remains on board to star.
The planned fourth movie in the Beverly Hills Cop series of films looks – not for the first time – to have taken another step closer, with the news of a fresh director coming aboard the project. The movie, that’ll see Eddie Murphy reprise the role of Axel Foley for the first time since the third movie that pretty much everyone has forgotten, is now set to be directed by Mark Molloy.
He’s replaced the exiting pair of Adil Al Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who had been attached for some time but are making Batgirl for Warner Bros instead. Once upon a time – and heck, this is going back – Brett Ratner was in line to make the movie.
Now though, Molloy will be taking on a film of this size for the first time (although he has an extensive reel of commercials work), working from a script by Will Beall. Jerry Bruckheimer produces, and Netflix is putting up the money for the project. There’s no news of a start date as of yet though, so this one still feels a bit believe it when we see it. Still, we’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
