Ben Affleck and Megan Thee are set to join Adam Sandler in his next collaboration with the Uncut Gems filmmakers.
News is starting to drip through as to what we can expect from Adam Sandler’s planned collaboration with the Safdie Brothers, due to film this year. Interest in the project is high, given that their 2019 collaboration
Uncut Gems was seen as one of that year’s most thrilling dramas.
Although plot details for the film are currently under wraps, Sandler recently also offered a tantalising nugget as to what the plot of the film may revolve around, adding “it’s in the sports memorabilia world. And I just kind of want them to decide how they want to present it.”
Not much to go on, granted, but now we have some casting news too.
Deadline is reporting that the award-winning rap star Megan Thee Stallion is set to join Sandler. Stallion has a few screen appearances to her name already, including a memorable turn in the Marvel show,
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. She’s also set to feature in the upcoming A24 comedy,
F—-ing Identical Twins from
Borat director, Larry Charles.
Also reportedly joining the cast is Ben Affleck. Following his stint as the Snyderverse’s Batman, Affleck seems to have carved a niche for himself snagging some of Hollywood’s most interesting (and often fun) supporting roles and we’ll bet this project will be no different.
Finally, it looks like Netflix is overseeing the project which currently does not have a release date set. We’ll continue to bring you more on this one as we hear it.
