After months of rumours and decades of wrangling, the existence of Beetlejuice 2 has been officially confirmed by Warner Bros.
It looks like the stars have finally aligned, with news emerging from this week’s CinemaCon that
Beetlejuice 2 has finally been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. Whilst no other details have yet been confirmed, it’s the latest small step towards the sequel making it into production, ending a process that first began all the way back in 1990 under the working title,
Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.
As you might imagine, the current sequel is not that version. However, reports and rumours regarding the current project do go back for quite a few years. Whilst Warner Bros have confirmed nothing apart from the project’s official existence, the long-gestating sequel is likely to reunite Micheal Keaton and Winona Ryder in a follow up to Tim Burton’s goofy 1988 supernatural comedy. Burton is of course also expected to direct.

here but momentum has been steadily building since Plan B Entertainment became involved a year or so ago. In late 2022 it
was reported that Catherine O’Hara had signed up to reprise her role as Delia Deetz and just last month, rumours swirled about the intriguing possibility that Jenna Ortega would be involved, reuniting with Burton following the pair’s collaboration on the popular Netflix show,
Wednesday.
A summer shoot date in London is said to be in the works so hopefully, more official announcements aren’t too far away.
