Although Bam Margera’s legal action against his former friends is now heading to court, the performer has been listed on the credits for the upcoming Jackass Forever.
February will see most of the Jackass crew are returning for one more bout of crazy stunts and juvenile misadventure as the movie series draws to a close with Jackass Forever. Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Jason ‘Wee Man’ Acuna, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Ehren McGhehey and Preston Lacy are all back, although one star who won’t be returning is Bam Margera, who was reportedly fired by Paramount due to his erratic lifestyle in the last couple of years.
Margera has taken issue with that firing, and the refusal of the film’s producers to compensate him with what he believes he is entitled to from the film. Back in December, a judge threw out an attempt to have the case dismissed, meaning Margera’s case just took a big step towards a successful resolution, be that through the courts, or more likely, via a hefty financial settlement.
However, with the film’s launch just around the corner, it seems that Margera will appear in the film in some capacity as his name is listed on the credits.
Johnny Knoxville, one of Margera’s former Jackass collaborators recently spoke about Margera’s continued involvement in the film, stating “we wanted him all throughout the movie, but unfortunately that’s not the way it worked out. It’s really heartbreaking. I love Bam. We all love Bam. He’s our brother, you know? You just hope that he takes it upon himself to get the help that he needs, because we all care about him a lot.”
Knoxville recently revealed that the film will mark the end of his involvement with Jackass, as a performer at least, simply because age is catching up with him. It’s a shame that things have ended so acrimoniously for the group as their final film releases, but it will be interesting nonetheless to see what capacity Margera appears in, even if it is, as rumoured, just one scene.
