Lionsgate has revealed a short teaser for the upcoming John Wick spin-off flick Ballerina, set to release next summer.

Frame it anyway you want, but From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina has a bit of a PR job on its hands (not helped by that title, we might add). It’s got to convince potential audiences that a visit to the cinema will guarantee them the same level of high-quality action and thrills that they’d get from a mainline John Wick movie, and it’s been bumpy up to this point.

Far be it from me to talk down a movie’s chances before it arrives, but the public perception of reshoots often leads to the assumption that a film’s in trouble. The extensive reshooting of Ballerina means that chatter around the film is already focusing on whether it’s doomed or not.

Still: in the hands of Chad Stahelski (and co-director David Leitch), the John Wick films have yet to miss, and while this spin-off has been directed by Len Wiseman, Stahelski has reportedly been heavily involved in helping out with those reshoots. Reshoots of course can often notably improve the quality of a film so we’re still optimistic that given the talent involved, Ballerina will be another worthwhile entry in the John Wick saga.

Lionsgate certainly wants us to feel that way, and as such, has released a short featurette to keep anticipation for the film’s arrival next summer bubbling away. Stahelski also recently confirmed that the Under The High Table TV series is definitely on the way, while a spin-off film starring Donnie Yen’s character from John Wick Chapter 4 is currently being written.

Ballerina stars Ana de Armas as the titular assassin trained in both dance and stylish violence, and will now be released on 6th June 2025.

Along with de Armas, we’ll get Keanu Reeves making a cameo as the mighty John WIck alongside Anjelica Huston and Gabriel Byrne. The late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane also feature. The action is set to take place between the events of the third and fourth Wick films.

Here’s the featurette below. Where’s Len Wiseman…?
