Weāre getting an extra bit of Back To The Future, written especially for this yearās Comic Relief appeal.
The BBC has announced most of the special bits and pieces that will make up this yearās Red Nose Day fundraiser telethon for Comic Relief.
As well as something called 2020: The Movie with Keira Knightley and Michael Sheen (is Sheen going to be playing Trump? I wouldnāt bet against it), one other section of particular interest to Film Stories is a new bit of Back To The Future business.
Itās being described as āa bespoke sketch created by Bob Galeā who, I expect you very possibly know, co-wrote the original films with director Robert Zemeckis.
Weāre promised Marty, Doc and Jennifer, in their new Back To The Future: The Musical incarnations, and told that theyāll be performing and/or milling about to the new song Put Your Mind To It and very much not a new song, Power Of Love.
As per the official musical website, Roger Bart is the new Doc Brown, Olly Dobson is the new Marty, and Courtney-Mae Briggs is the new Jennifer. Bart is a genius kind of casting for this role, I think.
Word from the Manchester run of the musical last year was that the show is actually a lot of fun. As things stand right now, the plan is for it to open in Londonās West End this summer ā somewhat delayed from the original schedule, for obvious reasons.
Red Nose Day this year falls on 19 March. Information on the many projects supported by Comic Relief can be had on their website, where you can also make a donation.
