Nicole Kidman stars as an uptight CEO who is sexually liberated by her intern, played by Harris Dickinson. Here’s the Babygirl trailer.
Director Halina Reijn is swapping horror satires for erotic thrillers with her new film Babygirl, which made quite the splash at Cannes Film Festival in May. The film follows Nicole Kidman’s CEO who begins an intense affair with Harris Dickinson’s intern.
Take a look at the first Babygirl trailer below.
Babygirl is certainly miles away from Reijn’s breakthrough film, the sharp and brutal horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies. The film was warmly received at Cannes and currently holds a 93% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Nicole Kidman picked up the Best Actress trophy at the Venice film festival as well.
Kidman and Harrison are joined by Antonio Banderas and Sophie Wilde in the film, while Reijn has also written the script. As you can tell from the trailer, Babygirl probably isn’t the film for your next family outing, but we are detecting some Basic Instinct and 9 1/2 Weeks vibes.
Here’s the official synopsis: “A high-powered CEO puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern.”
Reijn spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in September about the film, especially the “huge orgasm gap” in Hollywood.
“It’s gotten better on TV but in movies, in bigger Hollywood movies, we still see women having orgasms that are physically just not possible, at least for 99 percent of women. I wanted to make a huge, super entertaining juice film about sexuality, but be very honest about it,” Reijn elaborated.
Babygirl is in US cinemas 25th December for some steamy Christmas viewing, but will hit UK screens on 10th January, 2025.
Charlie Polinger will write and direct a 'darkly comedic' spin on The Masque Of The Red Death, with Sydney Sweeney set to star.

Brady Corbet has made his best film yet with an American epic about a Jewish refugee. Here’s our The Brutalist review.
The Brutalist, Brady Corbet’s Cannes sensation, feels timely despite its post-World War II setting. Its take on the immigration experience, seen through the eyes of a Hungarian-Jewish architect, was always going to hit close to [...]
