Ben Affleck and Matt Damonās new production company is financing an adaptation of Small Things Like These.
Following his lead turn in Christopher Nolanās upcoming
Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy is set to star and produce in an adaptation of Claire Keeganās acclaimed novel,
Small Things Like These. The āstory takes place over Christmas in 1985, when devoted father Bill Furlong (Murphy) discovers the startling secrets being kept by the convent in his town, and some shocking truths about his own life as well.ā
The project boasts a talented supporting cast with Ciarán Hinds and Emily Watson also signed up to appear. Principal photography is already underway in Ireland, with Tim Mielants directing, having previously worked with Murphy on
Peaky Blinders.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damonās new production company, Artists Equity, is backing the project, with Damon among the filmās producers. Artists Equity has its first release in cinemas soon in the form of
Air, which features both founders onscreen. One of the key principles of the label is to create a more equitable division of profits for participants so we can assume that thereās a fair few backend deals attached to this project, should it perform well.
Artists Equity is also backing
The Instigators starring Damon and Casey Affleck and helmed by Doug Liman. That one is in partnership with Apple whilst a deal is also said to be close for
Unstoppable, a Jennifer Lopez project. Weāll bring you more on these projects as we hear it.
