Ever since Marvel extended the MCU into television, itās divided critics and fans alike, though shows like Jessica Jones and Loki garnered critical praise. Arguably it was shows like Wandavision that really broke the mould, with storytelling techniques Marvel hadn’t attempted before.
It was recently confirmed that Paul Bettany will reprise his role to lead Vision. The character was killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and later returned in WandaVision.
Wandavision took risks with its storytelling, and won legions of fans ā Kathryn Hahnās Agatha doing a cheeky wink is now an evergreen internet meme. Hahn reprises the role in Disney+ series Agatha All Along.
The synopis for the new spin-off series, out in September, reads as follows:
The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after the suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven and set off down, down, down The Road.
The cast also includes Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza.
Wandavision lead writer Jac Schaeffer created the series, serves as showrunner and also directed the pilot episode.
The next two Marvel telvision series will be animated ā Eyes Of Wakanda and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman ā before Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again, and Dominique Thorne will reprise her role as Riri Williams/Ironheart from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Ironheart, both of which will be released in 2025.
The first two episodes of Agatha All Along will be released on Disney+ on 18th September.
