You Are SO Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah! will see a series of unfortunate events unfold at the titular ceremony.
It’s fair to say that Adam Sandler has an eclectic filmography. From huge successes
Big Daddy and
50 First Dates to the critically savaged but no less financially successful
Grown Ups and it’s sequel, nobody could accuse Sandler of being a slouch when it comes to his work ethic.
After this year’s film,
Hustle, which saw him take on a more dramatic role as a sports coach, Sandler is returning to comedy in
You Are SO Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah!. The plot will see a girl’s bat mitzvah plans comedically unravel and threaten to ruin one of the most important events of her young life.
Starring alongside Sandler are Idina Menzel, who previously appeared with him in 2019’s
Uncut Gems and
Saturday Night Live star Sarah Sherman. Competing the ensemble are Sunny Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Luis Guzmán. Ido Mosseri, Samantha Lorraine, Dylan Hoffman, Dean Scott Vazquez, Miya Cech, Ivory Baker, Dylan Dash and Millie Thorpe. Zaara Kuttemperoor will also appear in the project, along with Jackie Sandler.
Sammi Cohen directs from a screenplay by Alison Peck, adapted from the novel of the same name by Fiona Rosenbloom.
Filming has just commenced on the project and no release date has yet been announced. The Sandler-headlined
Murder Mystery 2 is also in post-production.
