A decade after he made his directorial debut with Anuvahood, actor and filmmaker Adam Deacon is to take on a new film. He’s making Sumotherhood, a film that’s set to be an action comedy with an urban slant.
Jazzie Zonzolo and Michael Vu join Deacon as creatives on the movie. Notably of course, for Deacon this is a return to the film industry after a taxing decade. He previously worked with Noel Clarke on a series of films, but their falling out would lead to a court case. Deacon has been open about the mental health challenges he’s also faced, and when serious allegations about Clarke arose earlier this year – allegations that Clarke denies – then Deacon’s argument has been viewed differently
The project is now at the casting stage, and as we hear more about the movie, we’ll keep you posted.
