Aaron Taylor-Johnson joins The Fall Guy remake

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will join Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the soon-to-shoot action comedy The Fall Guy, from director David Leitch. With David Leitch’s The Fall Guy set to shoot in Australia later this year, we’ve had another big casting announcement for the movie in the form of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s involvement. Whilst we already knew that that the film is set to feature Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, it has now been revealed that the duo will be joined by Taylor-Johnson as well. Taylor-Johnson has appeared in a couple of the biggest action movies of the last couple of years, including Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and of course, Bullet Train, the Brad Pitt action flick that was helmed by David Leitch. Leitch has turned to Taylor-Johnson once more for The Fall Guy and with three of the leads in place, we now have a morsel of the plot to contend with too. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will ‘see Gosling play a battered and past-his-prime stuntman who finds himself back on a movie with the star (Taylor-Johnson) he worked with long ago and who replaced him. The problem, however, is that the star is now missing. Blunt plays a prosthetic make-up artist that has a romantic past with our stuntman.’ Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw scribe Drew Pearce penned the script and along with the three actors named so far, we’re looking forward to seeing them flex their comic prowess alongside lots of action. Leitch has proved with the recently-released Bullet Train that he’s more than adept at balancing comedy with explosive set pieces and Taylor-Johnson was a key part of that ensemble. March of 2024 is the date when the film is set to release, and we’re keeping an eye out for further casting news, especially to see who might be playing the film’s antagonist, should it call for one.
