Noel Fielding has reportedly pulled out of the shoot for season 2 of The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin leading to the series’ demise. More on that below.
If you were feverishly waiting for season 2 of The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin, we have some disappointing news for you. Deadline reports that the comedy series has been canned at AppleTV+ after writer and star Noel Fielding pulled out of the shoot.
According to Deadline, who got the news from The Sun, there’s no rescuing the series, which was already roughly three-quarters of the way through shooting the second season.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin followed the titular British highway robber with fabulous hair and his gang of lovable, mischievous rogues. The first season, which aired in March 2024, was warmly received and currently enjoys an impressive 84% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The first season also featured the talents of several British comedy legends, such as Ellie White, Dolly Wells and Mark Heap. Hugh Bonneville and Tamsing Greig also starred in the series, the latter of whom will soon be seen in Riot Women. Season 2 was also set to feature several British comedians, but it seems that we’ll never know who was on the roster for the season.
Fielding has been hosting The Great British Bake Off since 2017 and a new season of the popular competition show is in the works, with Fielding presumably returning to host. The comedian hasn’t commented on his departure from Dick Turpin yet, but Metro reports that he simply failed to show up on set after the Christmas break.
