Venom 2 gets title, and a nine month delay

The new Venom film – starring Tom Hardy – now goes by the name Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and it’ll be arriving in June 2020. Even though Sony Pictures hadn’t formally confirmed that the sequel to Venom was arriving this October, it’s long had a date marked out there for an ‘untitled Marvel movie’. And given that Venom 2 was shooting before the lockdown happened, the smart money was on that being the film to fill that particular slot. Well, now we learn that Venom 2 was indeed due to arrive this October, but now it’s not. Instead, it’s the latest film to be delayed in the midst of the Coronavirus lockdown, and the movie will now not be with us until June 25^th 2021. Furthermore, we now know its title too. The sequel will be known as Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage. The movie will see Tom Hardy reprising the lead role, with Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson joining him in the cast. Andy Serkis has taken over as director for the sequel. More as we hear it. Just don’t expect to hear much for a while.
