Oscar-winner Hilary Swank will be joining Yellowjackets season 3, we hear. More on the casting below.
The long-awaited Yellowjackets season 3 is finally filming in Vancouver and should appear on our screens sometime in 2025. Christina Ricci, who plays Misty in the slightly supernatural cannibal thriller series, has already teased that viewers can expect the new season to be “more shocking and surprising than the previous seasons”.
Deadline has now revealed that Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank is set to join the series as a recurring guest star in season 3. Yellowjackets recently also added Joel McHale to its roster. The details of Swank’s role are still being kept under wraps, but Deadline has heard whispers that she could become a series regular if Yellowjackets is renewed for season 4.
Yellowjackets follows a girls’ soccer team who are stranded in the woods after a plane crash and have to resort to cannibalism to survive. The series also explores characters who survived their time in the woods 25 years later and, as you might have guessed, their past keeps coming back to haunt them.
The excellent cast of series regulars include Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty as some of the girls trapped in the woods and Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis and Lauren Ambrose as some of the adult characters.
The third season of Yellowjackets has been delayed by the Hollywood strikes, but now that production is well underway, we’re hoping to bring you more news on the series sooner rather than later.
