Godzilla Minus One is soon coming to 4K Ultra HD and other disc forms, but you can also catch it in cinemas later this year.
There’s simply no stopping Godzilla Minus One. Toho’s most successful Godzilla film was released last December and has gone on to win an Oscar, but the film’s impressive run continues.
Anime Limited and Toho Co. Ltd. have announced that Godzilla Minus One will be getting a 4K Collector’s Edition, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray and DVD this coming “holiday season”. There’s no solid date announced yet, but we’re suspecting all of the above will be in stores in time for your Christmas shopping.
Wait, that’s not all… Godzilla Minus One is also returning to cinemas later this year in the UK and Ireland, including its black-and-white version, titled Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color. If you missed this on the big screen, this is your chance to rectify that. Trust us, it’s well worth it. There’s no date for the cinema release yet either, but the press release promises details are coming soon.
Just to refresh your memory, here’s the film’s synopsis: In postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror. From renowned director, screenwriter & VFX visionary Takashi Yamazaki (The Eternal Zero, Stand By Me Doraemon) comes Godzilla Minus One, a film about the power of home in the face of despair.

We gave Godzilla Minus One the full five stars in December and said the film “effortlessly lives up to the hype surrounding it and even exceeds it.” You can read the full review here.
