The Deadpool 3 director and star will continue their regular partnership with a globe-trotting heist movie for Netflix.
Once Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds wrap up on Deadpool 3, the pair look set to continue their creative partnership on another project at some point in the next couple of years.
Levy has already directed Reynolds in 2021ās Free Guy, 2022ās The Adam Project and of course, the currently-filming Deadpool 3. Whilst this āglobe-trotting heistā project wonāt be happening any time soon (as thereās no script yet), the announcement means that itās likely the duo arenāt done collaborating yet.
Eight different studios were said to have been involved in an attempt to acquire the project, with Netflix eventually coming out on top (according to The Hollywood Reporter). Both men have pretty packed slates so it will be interesting to see where this project fits in: Levy of course has the final season of Stranger Things to oversee, not to mention the small matter of a Star Wars film to direct, although he said not so long back that his Star Wars project was in a āholding patternā. (Who could have predicted that?)
We know that his Star Wars project wonāt be releasing before 2028 at the very earliest so weād expect this heist project to fit in ahead of that one.
As for Reynolds, heās currently filming Deadpool 3 and is also set to feature in John Krasinskiās IF (you can catch the newly-dropped trailer for that one right here).
Red Notice 2 was originally set to film next month but the strikes have thwarted those plans whilst Calamity Hustle, Reynoldsā upcoming comic two-hander alongside Channing Tatum is also said to be high on his to-do list.
Weāll bring you more on this one as we hear it but it could be some time before this one gets in front of cameras. Weāll let you know as we hear more.
