James Nesbitt and Timothy Spall headline seasonal special The Heist Before Christmas, hereās the trailer.
As seemingly happens to many an English actor of a certain age, itās now Timothy Spallās turn to play Father Christmas. Happens to the best of them, and in this case, itās for a British movie thatās heading to Sky next month. Letās get down to the basics.
The synopsis for the film in question, The Heist Before Christmas, reads as follows:
Twelve-year-old Mikey Collins, whoās dirt-poor and hates Christmas, finds two Santa Clauses in the woods. One has just robbed a bank and is on the run with the cash, the other Santa claims to have fallen out of his sleigh. Mikey has no time for this second guy ā heās well past believing any of the Jingle Bells, spirit-of-the-season rubbish, even if his little brother Sean insists on treating the old man like a superstar. Instead, Mikeyās determined to get his hands on the bank-robberās cash, convinced that this is the answer to giving his family the Christmas they all crave. But as Mikey risks everything for the loot, he comes to realise that maybe the spirit of Christmas is alive after allā¦
Spall stars alongside James Nesbitt, Joshua McLees, Bamber Todd, Bronagh Waugh, Peter Rethinasamy, Laura Donnely and Lloyd Hutchinson in the ensemble. Good, solid line-up that.
Edward Hall directed from a screenplay by Ronan Blaney.
