Sigourney Weaver joins Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles teller in Scott Derrickson’s next film.
Apple Studios and Skydance are set to continue their ongoing production partnership with The Gorge, an intriguing project that is being described as a ‘high-action, genre-bending love story’ which certainly sounds like the kind of ambitious creative swing that we like studios to make. The project was announced last October and has a creative team behind it that looks pretty promising too.
The Black Phone's Scott Derrickson is set to direct, whilst the onscreen pairing of Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy is one we’re really looking forward to. Now the film’s roll call has been further boosted with the news that none other than Sigourney Weaver will be joining the cast.
Weaver continues to plough her time into all types of projects. The actor’s 2022 saw her working in independent fare for filmmakers like Paul Schrader, whilst also putting in impressive work in the behemoth Avatar sequel. No matter the scale of the production, Weaver is always value for money and her addition to this intriguing project only whets our appetite further. We just hope the film gets some kind of theatrical release ahead of its debut on Apple’s streaming platform. We’ll bring you more as we hear it.
