Director Johannes Roberts is heading back into the sea for The Red Triangle, and here are the first details of his next film.
Not a year goes by where there isn’t a plethora of shark based thrillers. One of the most popular entries of recent years is 2017’s 47 Meters Down, a taut, tightly written thriller that posed the terrifying question – what would you do if your diving cage plunged to the bottom of the sea and you were still inside?
A small budget and a good box office return ensured a follow up was released just two years later, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged arrived in 2019.
Now, director and writer Johannes Roberts is returning to the genre with The Red Triangle.
The titular stretch of ocean is one of the most famous in America. Encompassing 200 miles of North Californian coastline, it is said to be the location of almost half of all recorded shark attacks.
The film will see a cruise ship crammed with shark fodder – sorry, passengers – begin to sink. A frantic fight for survival ensues.
Roberts will write and direct.
