Mark Wahlberg adds another film to his slate, as he signs up for The Family Plan: more details on the film here.
Mark Wahlberg is nothing if not prolific. The actor launched this year co-starring in Sonyās action blockbuster,
Uncharted and has remained characteristically busy ever since. Wahlberg would release
Father Stu next, again with Sony and also has two Netflix movies on the way, comedy
Me Time and drama,
Our Man From Jersey.
The actor has also been in the Dominican Republic shooting
Arthur The King with director, Simon Cellan Jones and it has been announced that Wahlberg will be reuniting with Jones once more to make action-comedy,
The Family Plan. The film will be a co-production between Apple Studios and Skydance Media that tells āthe story of a suburban dad who must take his family on the run when his past catches up to him.ā
David Coggeshall, who has appeared several times on the prized Hollywood Blacklist for the best unproduced scripts, has penned the story which is due to go before the cameras at some point this year.
The collaboration between Apple and Skydance continues to develop a working relationship which is yielding lots of films. The two companies have entered into a multi-year partnership that has already given us
Luck and
Spellbound. Other projects on the way include Russell Crowe in
The Greatest Beer Run Ever and
Ghosted, described as āa high-concept romantic action adventureā starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. That project has been helmed by Dexter Fletcher.
Weāll bring you more on
The Family Plan as we hear it. Weāll also let you know when Wahlberg signs up for more projects, which likely means youāll hear more news in short order.
