Helen Fielding’s classic character Bridget Jones is said to be making a comeback, as reports surface of a fourth film.
The Bridget Jones franchise is nothing short of a phenomenon. The long suffering singleton was introduced in a series of newspaper columns and, later, a novel by Helen Fielding in 1996. The film version of Bridget Jones’ Diary, in which Renee Zellweger donned the big pants to play the title role, arrived in 2001, with the sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, released in 2004. Over a decade later came the third book and film, Bridget Jones’ Baby, in 2016. All the films have been notable hits.
Now, there are reports of a fourth film being in the development. Little is know about it at this stage, except that Fielding is co-writing the screenplay and Zellweger is reportedly reprising her role. We’ll keep you updated as we here more.
